| 1.One Foundation representatives visited the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in Geneva to promote the foundation’s global focus. The two sides shared similar belief and agreed to establish a partnership in the future. Mr. Ibrahim Osman, Deputy Secretary-General of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) says he is glad that the IFRC and One Foundation have so much in common and he is willing to push for further cooperation between the two sides.
2. One Foundation representatives visited World Health Organization’s headquarter in Geneva. The visit reviewed last year’s collaboration and initiated discussions on future cooperation. The WHO hoped to work with One Foundation for further cooperation.
3. On August 22, the Sixth Bazaar Charity Auction was held in Beijing. One Foundation is Bazaar Magazine’s exclusive philanthropy partner. The auction raised 10,350,000 RMB which will be donated to Sichuan for after-quake reconstruction and promotion of philanthropic awareness.
4. On August 25, the Chinese premiere of the Hollywood movie The Mummy Returns III announced its charity cooperation with One Foundation. For each ticket sold, the movie company will donate 0.1 RMB with an additional 0.01 RMB from cinema to charity causes. It is One Foundation’s first collaboration with an overseas blockbuster.
5. On August 30, an earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale struck Panzhihua City, Huili County in Sichuan Province. One Foundation immediately took emergency measures. Disaster relief materials worth 2,750,000 RMB were mobilized and shipped to affected areas twice in a day. These materials include quilts, tents and rice and were distributed by Red Cross Society of China. The first batch of materials worth 250,000 RMB were delivered to Huili county & Miyi county in Sichuan and Yuanmou county & Yongren county in Yunnan. The second batch of materials worth 2,500,000 were shipped to severely affected Chuxiong, Zhaotong, Dali and Qunming. Meanwhile One Foundation called for long-term preparation in case of sudden outburst of such disasters.
6. On September 10,upon invitation, Mr. Jet Li, the founder of One Foundation led a delegation to The Forbes Global CEO Conference which was held in Singapore. Mr. Jet Li shared One Foundation’s belief with 450 business leaders and pointed out that caring and experienced business talents should chair philanthropy organizations.
7. On September 11, Mr. Jet Li led a delegation to The Global UBS Philanthropy Forum 2008 which was held in Singapore. He gave a keynote speech to promote One Foundation’s global focus and was well received his audience, comprised mainly of global business leaders. They expressed wishes to work with One Foundation in philanthropic field.
8. On September 27, Mr. Jet Li was invited to attend the 2008 Summer Davos Forum in Tianjin. He exchanged ideas with many global business leaders on the subject of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and citizen’s social responsibility. The initiator of Davos Forum Mr. Klaus Schwab applauded One Foundation’s belief and invited Mr. Jet Li to attend the Winter Davos Forum to be held at the end of 2008 to further promote the foundation’s ideals.
