On May 15, the Red Cross Society of China & Jet Li One Foundation plan to hold "5.12 Sichuan earthquake relief Report. One Foundation released latest overall collection of donation to the public media including two latest actions: The first batch of supplies will arrive in Chengdu on May 17, and will organize volunteers to the disaster areas for implementation of relief projects.

One Foundation’s hot news: three-day fund-raising RMB 24.05 million.

The Executive Chairman of One Foundation Ms Zhou Weiyan released the latest overall fund-raising collection. Up to May 15 at 12:00, it reached up to RMB 24.05 million including RMB 13.85 million from donations of individuals and RMB 12.2 million from corporate contributions.

On May 12 Wenchuan’s earthquake happened, One Foundation collected RMB 1 million to support the disaster areas at the first time.

Meanwhile, One Foundation’s partner and cooperator such as Tencent network, SOHU, Taobao, launched online fund-raising activities. Tencent network and Taobao takes use of its online payment platform like “Caifutong” and “Zhifubao” providing the vast number of netizens to donation with quickest and most convenient channel for contributions. Tencent net’s ‘Caifutong” received more than 1 million yuan of donations from netizens within 24 hours.

Since “5.12”earthquake happened, One Foundation always kept paying close attention to the relief progress of the disaster. It kept in touch with the rescue teams of Red Cross Society of China in the disaster areas everyday for renewal information. Jet Li and Mr. Guo Changjiang, the vice president Red Cross Society of China create interactive communication of several telephone exchanges each day.

With succor develops in-depth and the continuous loss of statistics mastered, the problem of lacking of tents, blankets, food, drinking water, drugs, life, medical supplies of basic security become more prominent. It was learned that these supplies in neighboring Sichuan provinces and cities there have been out of stock. One Foundation called on the large number of enterprises over country donating supplies. At present the basic necessary supplies in disaster areas mainly are: tents, quilts, convenience food, drinking water, and so on. One Foundation needs more enterprises willing contribution can purchase new materials and donated funds available to assist suffered people. Local Red Cross branch and One Foundation will help the donation’s distribution and supervise the whole process.

According to One Foundation’s professional description, after serious disaster happened, the relief task will be divided into several stages, each stage has a different focus. And the second stage mainly concentrates on preventing the outbreak of large areas of the epidemic and post-disaster Psychological crisis; The third stage mainly focus on post-disaster reconstruction. One Foundation’s professional team have foreseen part of the reconstruction and they found the possibilities of demanding more social resources. It starts to make a comprehensive plan including the post-disaster reconstruction, fund-raising plans and how to promote propaganda and organization of volunteers to disaster areas. One Foundation has made long-term preparations for combat to the earthquake and maintained a continuous concern.

The first team consisted of One Foundation’s staff arrived in Chengdu on May 15. They will assist the local Red Cross for supplies reception and distribution as well as collecting first-hand information for continuous rescue plans.
